nick-shepherd-picNick Shepherd, FCPA, FCGA, FCMC, FCCA, FCMI has many years of varied work experience and since 1989 has been running his own management consulting and professional development company, EduVision Inc. Nick currently focuses his efforts in the areas of organizational sustainability and integrated reporting.

Nick is a well-known consultant and professional facilitator and has designed and presented many PD workshops both internationally, and across Canada on an annual basis including a national 3 day “Controllers Operational Skills” Executive Program. Nick was a part-time faculty member at Grenoble Graduate School of Business (GGSB) where he taught modules on Mergers and Acquisitions and Management Consulting. Nick also led the Professional Standards Committee of the International Council of Management Consultants in developing the competency model that now forms the basis of CMC certification in all 50 plus global CMC Institutes. In 2007 Nick received the President’s Award for Education from the Certified General Accountants of British Columbia. Nick’s consulting work has included both public and private sector clients in many countries including Canada, the US, the UK, the Caribbean, South Africa, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Jordan.

Nick is currently a Council member of The Maturity Institute and leads their work on integrated reporting. Nick is a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Management Consultants of Ontario (FCMC – Honour Roll), and Past President of the Institute, Nick is Past Chair of the National Certification Committee for all Institutes of Management Consulting across Canada; is Past Chair of the Professional Standards Committee of the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI) and served as one of four trustees for Canada at the International level (ICMCI). Nick joined CPA Ontario as a Fellow in 2014 following the merger of accounting bodies. Prior to that Nick was a CGA for over 35 years obtaining his Fellowship in 2009. Nick is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA UK) and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI UK). Nick is a senior member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and Past Chair of the Quality Costs Committee of the Management Quality Division. Nick has also been a member of Mensa for many years.

Nick is the author of “Governance, Accountability and Sustainable Development” that deals with Governance issues for the 21st century and the “Controllers Handbook (now in its 2nd edition) – these books add to a number of other books and articles that Nick has written. Nick has also authored the publications “Values and Ethics: From Inception to Practice,” “The Evolution of Accountability – Sustainability Reporting for Accountants” and “Unrecognized Intangible Assets: Identification, Management and Reporting” and has just completed “The Human Aspects of Cost Control” published by the US Institute of Management Accountants. Nick has also developed several Ethics courses for accountants and consultants nationally and internationally. His latest book called “Reflective Leaders and High Performing Organizations” co-authored with Dr. Peter Smyth was published in February 2012.
